My desire to earn extra money led me to join a MLM group that sold supplements . I was really doing well and my number seller was a fat burner. I tried them and I must say that they worked. Women loved those things but guys ran away from them like the plague. I finally asked a male friend why he was down on my fat burners and he simply that they interfered with his sex, I knew then what he meant and it was a subject that intrigued me. It was until I started doing research that I realized that men thinking fat burners cause impotence is a myth.

During my research into the subject of fat burners and erectile dysfunction among males I learned about testosterone that has prompted to write about the subject.of male reproductive organs. Seeking information about health and fitness it is definitely a subject that interested me.

What On Earth Is Testosterone

Wiki describes testosterone as the primary male sex hormone and an anabolic steroid. Basically testosterone aid in the development of reproductive organs like the prostate and testes. In addition to helping distinguish males from females through the development of secondary sexual characteristics such increased muscle and bone mass and the growth of body hair. I guess this is another of saying testosterone is the reason guys are bigger, stronger and grow larger mustaches. I also discovered that testosterone helps with osteoporosis in males thus preventing frailty and bone loss. Another interesting bit of information is that testosterone is used to enhance physique and performance in athletes. However, it mus the noted that as a man ages his ability to produce testosterone decreases

Men have a higher percentage of lean muscle mass compared to women thanks to testosterone. Scientific studies have shown that men have 40% more muscle mas in the upper body compared to women and 33% more in the lower body. As a result on average men are able to lift larger weights on average.

These steroids have intended use for medical conditions meaning they must be prescribed by a doctor. Physicians prescribed these steroids for such conditions as breast cancer, low red blood count, and delayed puberty and debilitated states resulting from sickness or surgery. More times than not these supplements are have been used by athletes illegally to boost aggression, muscle mass, performance and endurance and to shorten recovery time between workouts. Hence, the term illicit has been used to describe these steroids. The street name for anabolic steroids include arnolds, gym candy, pumpers, roids, stackers, weight trainers and juice.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT). This process must be performed under medical supervision and is usually administered in as a supplement, skin patch, cream or injection. Studies also suggest that replacement therapy can lead to weight loss in obese patients. In addition, to bring your energy levels back up TRT can also increase your sex drive. Many patients notice a drop in body fat and a buildup of muscle mass. Anyone who has had breast or prostate cancer should avoid TRT treatments.

Testosterone Boosters also known as natural testosterone supplements. These supplements increase the natural production of testosterone in your body. One of the more interesting things about boosters is that they are plant based and contain no testosterone. Some boosters such as ashwagandha, D-aspartic acid and fenugreek seed extract may raise testosterone levels and improve muscle growth in men who have low levels but there is no scientific proof. It must be pointed out that there are no scientific claims behind the use of boosters as being beneficial in the loss of weight. The most benefit that is gained from this booster is the natural production of testosterone. Exactly what are the levels of testosterone produced scientist have not determined a definitive amount.

Testosterone Boosters or Supplements…. You Chose

Based on scientific information it appears that Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is probably the most effective to increase your testosterone which in essence will add in muscle mass growth and subsequent weight loss. This treatment however does have its risks. In addition, to possibly causing rash and itching at the site where the testosterone is applied there increased risk of heart attack or stroke. And studies indicate that the use of this supplement should only be temporarily.

The use of supplements is something that should be definitely discussed with a medical profession due to the risks involved, Even though testosterone boosters are plant based and therefore are seen as less risky from a health standpoint they are also the least effective. However, there are other ways to increase testosterone production, these include:

  • Strength training
  • Take Vitamin D Supplements
  • Get adequate Zinc
  • Get enough sleep
  • Aswgaandha
  • Last relax and minimize stress

  1. I love the content, especially how you delivered it to your audience. It shed some light on the facts I needed to know for the sake of my father and my husband. I really did not know that testosterone was responsible for the lean muscles and why they have a lot in the upper body to lift something heavier than a woman.

    So, what about the case of a woman? What if she could lift heavier stuff than a woman? What’s responsible for that? I don’t think women have testosterone. 🙂

    1. Thanks Mecyll. Women do have minimal amounts of testosterone. Also from what I know of women body builders and weight lifters they do take supplements to enhance their muscle mass. I can’t really comment on individuals but I would imagine that in addition to excessive training women who can lift more than men are likely taking some sort of supplement.

  2. This was an interesting read. I’ll have to consider some of those testosterone boosters, and just strength train a little more. Not really interested in TRT or steroids, although it was interesting to read about their effects. I like to strength train, so this was a good motivational read for me. Thanks!

  3. I have tried a range of herbal testosterone boosters and I can say they burn a lot of fat. People noticed the fat loss in my face. Insulin sensitivity improves along with the whole metabolism. This in addition to muscle gain makes a much more defined body. Injected testosterone can actually work against getting a great body as it’s an unnatural dose the body can’t use properly and so there can be a high conversion to estrogen which leads to fat gain.
